John R. Bolles, New London, Connecticut

John R. Bolles (1810-1895) was a well known citizen of New London. As an attorney he was instrumental in convincing the federal government to put a naval base in New London. He wrote a number of books in addition to a collection of six chapbooks for children. It appears that he published only a handful of volumes on his namesake imprint.
