Peter F. Cunningham, Philadelphia

As early as 1852 Cunningham was advertising for men to sell popular Catholic works. Cunningham's son, Francis A. Cunningham joined the house in 1873 and the new company was named Peter F. Cunningham and Son. The latter firm was in business until 1908 when P. J. Kennedy bought it out.

The Young Catholic's Library consists of 24 titles and was published by both Peter F. Cunningham as well as its successor, Peter F. Cunningham and Son.

Titles were added to the series between 1865 and 1872. By 1870 the series consisted of one list of 21 books. When all 24 titles had been published in 1872 the series was divided into two 12 book series. (See below Series 1 #1-12 and Series 2 #13-24)
