E. R. Herrick & Company, New York

Edmund R. Herrick established this publishing firm in 1896. The firm dissolved in February, 1899 with the assets being turned over to creditors.

With the exception of the Children’s Gift Books (See below.), there were fifty different books for juveniles included in several Herrick series. The Sunday School Library, Number One (1897) and the Economical Library, No. 1 (1898) contained the same twenty-five books. The Economical Library, No. 2 contained twenty-five different titles. The Favorite Stories for Young People broke down the fifty books into twelve boxed sets.

All of the titles could also be purchased individually.

Only one of the fifty books has been seen. It is presumed (but not known for certain) that all of the books with the exception of the cover colors were published in the same format.

Cloth. Various colors. Silver lettering. 5” x 8”.
