The first editions of these titles were published by Lippincott, Grambo & Co. in 1852. J. B. Lippincott & Co. published numerous editions between 1856 and 1881. Publication dates have been noted in 1856, 1857, 1859, 1860, 1863, 1864, 1868, 1869, 1872 and 1875.

Beginning in 1872 the twelve titles were also combined into six books. This series was known as "Arthur's Popular Juvenile Library"
