The earlier Lee and Shepard books I have seen date from 1868.
The volumes were sold individually or as boxed sets. The
internal text and illustrations are unchanged from the earlier first
editions.
Cloth. Red or green. Black lettering on the cover and spine. Several
full page illustrations. 6" x 4".
