NOTES:
In 1894 when "Brother against Brother" was released, some series' ads noted the two series were divided into the "Navy Series" and the "Army Series". The "Brother against Brother" 1894 title page stated "The Blue and the Gray Army Series". 1894 "Afloat" books only noted "The Blue and Gray Series". By 1895 and later, all of the the "On Land" title pages state "On Land". Examples below.

The "On Land Series" books have "On Land" between the medals on the cover. The Afloat Series did not have the word "Afloat" between the medals until 1897.

Cloth. Blue and gray split covers with gilt medals representing each side. Gilt spine lettering. Sold separately or in boxes. 7.5" x 5.25". Illustrations by A. Burnham Shute.
