This book has been seen with the title juxtaposed - "Two Schoolmates and the Morning Ride".

"Effie Gray" was first published in 1866 by T. H. Carter and Company. It contains stories originally published in the "New Church Magazine for Children".

"Truths for Children" was first published in 1867 by T. H. Carter & Son.
Books #5 and 6 were published by T. H. Carter & Sons

This six title series was published by T. H. Carter & Sons in 1867. Sold individually or as a boxed set. Previously the books had been published as non series volumes.

In 1869 Carter's Juvenile Library consisted of eight titles. The series was published by Henry H. & T. W. Carter.
