The first editions were published by James R. Osgood & Co. These
books were later included in the Roundabout Series, a Henry T. Coates
& Co. publisher's set.
Porter & Coates published this series beginning in 1876.

Cloth. Various colors. Line drawn front cover decoration. Author's
name at the top part of the cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. Gilt
illustration on the bottom of the spine-different for each book 6.75"
x 4.75"
Format 2 Volumes #1-6 Porter & Coates
Cloth. Various colors seen. Line drawn decoration on the front cover
and the spine. The author's name is on the bottom part of the front
cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. 6.75" x 4.75". Earlier books in
this format have the 822 Chestnut Street address at the base of the
title page and have the author and a book specific gilt illustration
on the spine.
