These titles are all reprints. The first editions were published by William V. Spencer. Catalogue notes state that Lee and Shepard purchased the plates of William V. Spencer.

These three books were first announced by Lee and Shepard in 1871. Later these volumes were published in Celesta's Library for Boys and Girls which was one of the Seventy-Five Cent Series. In addition they were included in the Mayflower and Pilgrim publisher's Series.

The set was sold boxed or as individual books.
