These were published as early as 1841. Initially the series contained 12 titles. By 1847 four titles (asterisks) were added.

Three different formats are known. All are in wraps.

Format 1. Front cover noted the publisher as Edwd Dunigan, 137 Fulton Street. Book appropriate cover illustration. Ca 1841

Format 2. Publisher Edwd Dunigan. Acorn pattern. 4.25" x 7".
Earlier books at 137 Fulton (Ca. 1842-1844), 12 titles listed on the verso. Later books are at 151 Fulton, 16 titles on the verso. (Ca. 1844-1847). Text and color illustration on each page.

These books were originally published by J. L. Marks, a London publisher, in the 1830’s and 1840’s. The latest edition by Marks is identical to the the Format 2 edition shown here except that this book says "Dunigan's Edition", whereas the Marks' book says "Marks's Edition".
