Introduced as a series by J. B. Lippincott & Co. in 1881. Each volume contains a number of stories. The 1883 catalogue notes that "more volumes are in preparation".

Volume 1 contains “Brave Boy’s Trials” by Ethel Coxon, and "The Quiet Daughter" by Mrs. M. Douglas and "A Dazzling Acquaintance".
Volume two contains “Curate of Lowood” by Mrs. J. H. Riddell, "Lady Madalena” , "Young Engineer” by Mrs. M. Douglas and "Romance of the Terrace” by Maria J. Greer
