Format 2. Various colors. Gilt series name with a picture of Optic on the cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. 7" x 5" This book is part of a publisher's series of Optic's printed between 1882 and about 1893.

Format 3. Cloth. Various colors. Gilt lettering on the cover and the spine. Cover/ spine pictures shown below. 7.5" x 5". This format was continuously published beginning in 1894 and reprinted by Lothrop, Lee and Shepard after 1905.
