This set was first published by the Mershon Company in about 1897. It is unclear which (maybe all) of the #1-38 list was published at that time. By 1899 #1-38 made up the list. From 1901 on the list had 44 titles.

Some Henty titles were also part of Mershon publisher’s series including the Winona Series, Wideawake Series, and the Regal Series

The very earliest books in this format have a title page that notes Rahway, NJ and not New York. The title pages of this series seen only with Rahway are from 1897. Beginning in 1898 the Mershon title pages note only New York.
