Home Circle Library

Published by A. Tompkins/ Tompkins and Company

Two different Home Circle Libraries were published.
In 1860 The Home Circle Library was published by A. Tompkins. It included five books as did the Tompkins and Company 1863 series. The books are the same but several of the titles are different with a juxtaposition of the subtitle and the title. Note that the subtitle of Marion Lester changed between the series.

Home Circle Library (A. Tompkins)

1. Home Life; or, A Peep Across the Threshold by Mrs. Caroline A. Soule (Copyright 1854)
2. Marion Lester; or, The Mother's Mistake by Minnie S. Davis (Copyright 1856)
3. The Harvest of Love by Minnie S. Davis (Copyright 1859)
4. The Pet of the Settlement by Caroline A. Soule (Copyright 1859)
5. Hesper, The Home Spirit by Elizabeth Doten (Copyright 1858)

There is nothing on/in the individual books that indicates that they are part of a series. The titles were not part of this series when initially published. The box that these books came in would have been labeled to indicate the series name.
