Illustrative Juveniles

Published by Gates & Stedman
1. Days of Boyhood by Joseph Alden (Copyright 1846 by Gates & Stedman)
2. Departed Sister by Joseph Alden (Copyright 1846 by Gates & Stedman)
3. Henry Langdon by Mrs. Louisa Payson Hopkins (Copyright 1846 by Gates & Stedman)
4. Rupert Cabell by Joseph Alden (Copyright 1846 by Gates & Stedman)

This series is somewhat confusing. In December, 1846 Gates & Stedman advertised the series as having the four books noted above. In 1847 the series was also noted to have four titles but “Henry Langdon” had been deleted and replaced with: "Tale by Mrs. Louisa Payson Hopkins"

In 1849, these books were lumped together with several others and advertised as “Beautifully Illustrated Juvenile Books". Probably this cannot be considered as a series because the books have different formats. The list is below:

1. Old Revolutionary Soldier (Previously titled "Old Revolutioner")
2. Holiday
3. Sleighride
4. Whippoorwill
5. Home Story Book
6. Henry Langdon
7. Rupert Cabell
8. Departed Sister
9. Days of Boyhood

All were written by Joseph Alden except for Henry Langdon which was written by Mrs. Louisa Payson Hopkins.
