This series was introduced by Davis, Porter & Co. in 1865. It was reprinted by Davis, Porter & Coates in 1866.
Stiff paper covers. Cover is common for the entire series. It pictures a mother with her daughter who has a doll. Black and white illustrations. Large type with one syllable words. The pagination indicates that each book was at one point combined into a larger book. 32 pages.
In 1865 Davis, Porter & Co. published Little Bessie’s Story Book and Little Bessie’s Picture Book. I believe these 75 cent books were compilations of the smaller Little Bessie's Books.
