This series was introduced by A. L. Burt in 1896. Books published between 1896 and early 1900 note the 97 Reade Street address the back ads. In 1900 and later the ads note the 52-58 Duane Street address. The imprint on the title page was A. L. Burt until 1902. In 1902 and later the imprint was A. L. Burt Company. (Beginning with volume #33 and reprints of the earlier titles)

This series was published until 1909.
