Illustrated

Six different cover formats have been seen. Five of them note the Fourth Street address on the title page which indicates a pre-1872 publication.
The earliest books do not have the "P & H" on the cover. It is unknown which of the two shown here is the earlier edition.

Dating the books with the "P & H" on the front cover is difficult and based on patterns seen on this publisher's volumes. The covers with the "P & H" on an angle predate the cover with the initials vertically positioned.

The red book with gilt illustrations and embellishments on the spine is the latest book.

These books are all in cloth. Various colors. 18 mo. (4.25" x 6.25")
