Three of the four volumes were first published by D. Lothrop & Co. The series of four books however was first released in 1887. I suspect that the D. Lothrop & Co. books were still available and added to Volume #1 in 1887 to form this series.
Two different styles have been seen.
(It is not known whether all four titles appeared in only one format.)

#1, 2- Gilt lettering with silver and gilt flower.
#3, 4- Cover with pine cone illustration and gilt lettering.
