The Mershon Company published the first six books in this series. The first editions of #1-4 have the earlier title page with only New York noted.

"Randy of the River" was copyrighted by the Stitt Company but the first edition was actually published by Chatterton-Peck Company.

These books were completed by Edwards Stratemeyer.

A number of other Alger titles were published in this format but are not actually part of the series.
