Introduced as a series in 1868 by Perkinpine & Higgins. Later
editions were published.
Sold as a twelve volume boxed set.
Illustrated
Four formats have been noted. Format 1 is the earliest of the three
publications.
(North 4th Street address) published between 1868-1872. Format 2 and 3
are also pre-1872 at the Fourth Street address. Format 3 has the P
& H initials on the format cover which was seen later than the
same cover format without embossed initials on the cover.

Cloth. Various colors. Blindstamped cover with embossed pattern. Spine
has gilt lettered title. 3" x 4.75".
