Between 1891 and 1896 all of the Kellogg series' books were part of Lee and Shepard Star Series. Between 1898 and 1906 the Kellogg books were in the American Boys' Series. See those pages for more details. Later Lothrop, Lee and Shepard published the Kellogg books in several formats.

Format 1 (This format was noted from the earliest editions until the early 1880's)
Cloth. Green, maroon, and blue seen. Blindstamped. Gilt illustration and lettering on the spine. 7" x 4.5". Several full page illustrations by Merrill.

Format 2
From the early 1880's until after Lee and Shepard became Lothrop, Lee and Shepard in 1905 there is a format that has a black circle on the front cover within which it notes the book title and series name. The Lee and Shepard books have gold lettering on the spine whereas the Lothrop, Lee and Shepard have black lettering.
