The first editions of #1 and #2 were published by Price-McGill Company. The first edition of #1 notes the Price-McGill address as 350-352 Sibley Street (1892), not the later 455-473 Cedar Street address (1893 and later).

The first editions of #3 and #4 were published by The Merriam Company.

The first editions of #3 and #4 have glossy illustrations by J. W. Wallace.

Cloth. Green. Gold or silver gilt writing and decoration on the cover and the spine. There is a cover illustration of an Indian shooting a gun behind a tree. 7.5" x 5.25".

(Note that the book directly below is a transition copy. Merriam was using the title page of the Price-McGill book but the cover has Merriam stamped on the spine. This is an early 1894 publication in which Merriam was probably still using the left over Price-McGill title pages.)
