Introduced as a series in 1902 with fourteen volumes by Hurst & Co.
In 1908 there were twelve books and in 1909 there were nine books.

These books were also in other Hurst series. This group however was bound in cloth whereas the other series' volumes were in boards.

The series was not published between 1910 and 1913. It returned in a new format (Format 2) with six books in 1914 and was published without change until 1919.
