Roberts Brothers published Books #1 and 2 in a uniform cover in 1882 but without a designated series name. In 1884 Books #1-3 were called the "Spinning Wheel Stories". #4 was added to the series in 1887.

Cloth. Various colors. Spine has gilt letter boxes. Covers are
different for each book.
The early “Silver Pitchers” books have a plain colored pitcher. By
1885 most books seen have the pitcher in silver gilt. 4.5" x 6.5"
